What inspired you to join Full Speed Performance, and what do you bring to the team?

I joined Full Speed Performance to close the gap — every athlete deserves the same elite care professionals receive, and FSP has the team and facility to deliver exactly that. I bring years of experience in elite sport and a strong focus on solving soft tissue injuries, especially hamstrings. My approach is built around clear testing, criteria-based rehab, and helping athletes return faster, stronger and smarter.

Where did you study, and what qualifications or certifications do you hold?

I completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Otago University in New Zealand, followed by a Masters of Sports & Exercise Physiotherapy and Masters of High-Performance Sport through Australian Catholic University. I’m also an ASCA Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach.

What areas do you specialise in, and how do you help athletes reach their goals?

I specialise in lower limb soft tissue injuries — hamstrings, calves, quads. Whether you're stuck in the cycle of recurring strains or just not moving the way you used to, I use pro-level testing, sprint mechanics and highly specific rehab planning to get you back. No guesswork, no bandaid solutions — just clear, individualised care that works.

What’s your approach to rehab and injury prevention?

It all comes down to finding the root cause, not just managing symptoms. From there, it’s about creating a clear rehab plan with defined progress markers and executing it consistently. Clarity beats complexity.

How do you use data and technology like VALD to guide your treatments?

VALD tech — including ForceDecks, NordBord and GPS — helps us remove the guesswork. These tools allow us to pinpoint weaknesses, track progress objectively, and make evidence-based decisions about when to push or pull back — just like we would in elite sport.

What do you wish more athletes understood about performance or recovery?

Train with purpose and intent. Recovery isn’t just rest — it’s strategic. The best athletes master the basics and do them consistently: quality sleep, solid nutrition, structured training and smart load management. Gimmicks won’t beat good habits.

How do you stay up to date with the latest in physio and sports science?

During my Masters I contributed to large-scale hamstring research involving sprint biomechanics and injury risk. I keep up with new insights through journals, podcasts, and regularly presenting on soft tissue rehab — it keeps the edge sharp.

What’s your favourite part of working with athletes?

I love seeing the switch flick — that moment when someone goes from injured and unsure to confident, powerful and back doing what they love. That never gets old.

What makes Full Speed Performance different from other clinics or gyms?

We’re team-first, always. We share knowledge, communicate openly, and support our athletes with the same energy we bring to our own training. That environment drives results — and makes the journey a better one.

What do you do outside of work?

You’ll find me outdoors, usually hunting down the best coffee in the area, or getting outside to recharge.
