What inspired you to start Full Speed Performance, and what do you bring to the team?

I founded Full Speed Performance after going through a series of serious injuries during my youth career as a national-level soccer player. Multiple ankle surgeries and a lack of structured rehab left me feeling isolated — I wanted to create the facility I wish I had back then. One where athletes are supported at every stage of their recovery. I bring lived experience, formal qualifications, and a relentless focus on innovation, communication and athlete care.

Where did you study, and what qualifications do you hold?

I completed my Master of Physiotherapy at La Trobe University. I also hold coaching licenses and strength and conditioning accreditations, with experience across both clinical and high-performance sport settings.

What areas do you specialise in, and how do you help athletes reach their goals?

My focus is on bridging the gap between physiotherapy and performance. I work closely with our team to guide athletes from initial diagnosis through to return-to-sport, using clear planning, strength testing and sport-specific reconditioning.

What’s your approach to rehab and injury prevention?

It starts with clarity — understanding the true cause of the issue. From there, it’s about reducing pain quickly and delivering structured, measurable rehab using hands-on treatment and progressive load. Consistency and execution are key.

How do you use data and technology like VALD to guide your treatments?

We use VALD systems to track objective progress across strength, symmetry, and power. That data keeps both athletes and clinicians accountable, and ensures we can see — and show — progress at every stage.

What do you wish more athletes understood about recovery and performance?

That consistency beats intensity. The best rehab plan means nothing if it isn’t done well and done often. And that injury is as much a mental challenge as it is physical — support makes all the difference.

How do you stay current with sports science and physio research?

Our team is closely connected to leading research institutions. We regularly engage in professional development and contribute to research in areas like ACL rehab and load monitoring. Innovation is one of our core values.

What’s your favourite part of working with athletes?

Athletes are focused and goal-driven — it makes the process efficient and rewarding. Helping someone return to sport after an injury is always a powerful moment.

What makes Full Speed Performance different?

We’re not a clinic. We’re not just a gym. We’re a high-performance rehab facility with physiotherapists, coaches, and support staff working together every day. Every athlete gets care that’s integrated, data-driven and outcome-focused.

What do you do outside of work?

You’ll usually find me down by the bay with my wife and dogs, or heading to the snow in winter. Travel and downtime help me reset between the big rehab wins.
